About Affordable Locksmiths Medford

Affordable Locksmiths Medford has been serving the Rogue Valley since 2005. The owner, Ben LaMere, is an Ashland native. He knew early in his life he wanted to be his own boss so he attended Lockmasters Security Institute in 2001. From there, he apprenticed in Sedona, Arizona for three years until moving back to the Rogue Valley in 2005.

Ben entered the locksmith industry at a rapidly changing time – between new automotive security technology and the internet replacing a thing called the yellow pages. Keeping up with new technology has always been important to Ben in this constantly evolving industry; from programming key fobs, laser cutting vehicle keys, and wireless residential security, to commercial access control systems.

Ben has built strong relationships with people and businesses throughout the Rogue Valley and is the top-rated locksmith on Google. He takes pride in offering service that is backed by his principles of integrity and honesty with every customer. He also treats his customers with kindness and respect because he realizes that when someone calls a locksmith it isn’t their best day.

On a personal note, in 2020, the Almeda fire completely destroyed Ben’s home and business. A few days later, Ben’s fiance became the face of the Almeda fire nationally when an Associated Press photographer took her picture sitting in the rubble where their house once stood.

In the first year of the pandemic supply chains were severely choked everywhere so retooling his business was a major challenge, let alone getting a new van out of Detroit. Four months later Detroit still couldn’t give a delivery date on a new van so rather than continuing to work out of his Toyota 4-Runner, as he had for many months, he found a used one in Seattle. It took several months to tool it due to continuing supply issues. Rebuilding his home took much longer. But finally, after nearly two years in temporary housing, Ben and his partner, Desiree, moved into their new home in the fall of 2022.
